Experimental tests and numerical simulation of eccentrically loaded SRRC filled square steel tube columns

To investigate the mechanical properties of eccentrically loaded steel reinforced recycled concrete filled square tube columns, 14 specimens columns were designed and tested. The failure modes, load-displacement curves, bearing capacity deformation obtained analyzed in detail. In addition, numerical model considering unfavorable effects coarse aggregate (RCA) restraint effect also established by ABAQUS software. results show that deflection on mid-span section was obvious mode compression-bending occurred to columns. replacement percentage RCA has some adverse eccentric compression performance Compared with ordinary fully using is reduced 9.53%. As increasing eccentricity slenderness ratio, maximum reduction 46.14% 25.86%, respectively. strength RAC or effectively improves but ductile decreased gradually. Based above analysis, a modified calculation formula proposed.
